OUR VISION
Pilot Project for Water Harvesting
RJF is developing this flagship project for water harvesting structures, such as check dams, contour bunds, percolation tanks, and farm ponds, in the interior villages of the Raigad district.
The 60-year-old percolation tank found in this area, has dried up over the last 50 years
due to poor maintenance and low rainfall.
The project aims to improve groundwater recharge, and reduce the dependency on rainwater.
Thus increasing the availability of water for domestic and agricultural purposes.
The project will focus on community involvement, capacity building, and sustainability to ensure long-term impact.
Further on to create a mini forest system,
we will be planting drought-resistant trees
to promote healthier soil structure that reduces erosion
and enables a balanced ecosystem.
